Though Nicole and I love weddings so very very much, we also love to dip our toes into other arenas, charity event planning is how we got our start after all. We returned to our roots this weekend with the Kickin Cancer 5k in Brentwood. A run/walk to benefit the Lynne Cohen Ovarian Cancer Foundation. What a great event it was! Turnout was great, spirits were high and congratulations to the top finishers, you guys are insanely fast. Thanks to everyone who participated and supported, by running, walking, cheering or donating. We at K & N Events hope to partner with the Lynne Cohen Foundation again in the future.

Another weekend, another beautiful wedding.  This weekend it was Tina & Gabino, the new Mr. and Mrs. Avila! This wedding ran the gamut, from their serene and traditional Catholic ceremony, to their rockin' 90s dance party reception. Tina & Gabino embraced the spirit of putting their love and their personal style front and center at the wedding, from the traditional Hawaiian leis from Tina's home state of Hawaii to the delicious Mexican catering, celebrating Gabino's heritage.  There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Tina's dad gave his speech. Good thing the reception was outside, because the walls in an indoor reception would have burst from all the love from and for these newlyweds. Brides and grooms, take note.  Your love is the reason that everyone is there, so make sure to incorporate yourselves into your reception and you will LOVE the results. And congratulations to the Avilas!
